Exynos or no Exynos, that’s the question for Samsung’s upcoming Galaxy S26 series. And, furthermore, Where to Exynos? We’ve already heard tons of reports saying many different things: either only the S26 and S26+ will have the upcoming Exynos 2600 SoC, or maybe even the Ultra, but only in certain regions.

Today a new rumor muddies the waters even further, claiming that all three S26 models will indeed use the Exynos 2600, but only in one market: Korea. We have to say that we are very skeptical of this claim, given that Samsung has also brought Exynos S-series devices to Europe in the past.

Anyway, the story is that Samsung has apparently noticed the hate its Exynos chips have spread online around the world and the apparent preference everyone has for Snapdragon chips. Furthermore, the company’s contract with Qualcomm stipulates that at least 75% of all Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra sold worldwide must use the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 SoC, otherwise Samsung will have to pay a very large sum in compensation.

Additionally, the Exynos 2600’s yield is said to still not be ideal, although yields are improving faster for the 2nm GAA process than 3nm processes in the past, so even if it wanted to, Samsung may not be able to equip more S26 units with its own chip. Let’s not take any of this for granted, though: surely another rumor will arrive tomorrow that will at least partially contradict this. After all, that’s how things have been going on this front lately.
