Apple is rumored to launch the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e next spring, and today a new report from analyst Ming-Chi Kuo revealed some intriguing details about them. Let’s start with the strangest piece of information Kuo shared today: both the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e will supposedly ship with 9GB of RAM.
It’s not a typo. They’ll apparently use six 1.5GB dies, compared to the iPhone 17’s four 2GB dies. It’s an odd setup but, hey, it’s a bump in RAM over the iPhone 17 and iPhone 17e, even if it’s not a big one. And in case you were wondering, the extra GB of RAM should make Apple Intelligence run more smoothly.

Speaking of RAM, the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Ultra will all receive 12GB (eight 1.5GB dies). The iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are said to be powered by the A20 chip, which isn’t surprising. iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max and iPhone Ultra will be powered by the A20 Pro.
