343 Industries has confirmed that all Halo: Infinite sandbox content is now complete. The studio is now working on improving the experience for players.

In a new post on the official Halo website, lead sandbox designer Quinn DelHoyo explained that the entire team is committed to ensuring that the content is in the best possible state for players.

“We all have bugs fixed on our launch content and some exciting efforts are starting for future updates, such as new vehicles, equipment, etc.,” DelHoyo said. “But we’re basically testing a lot and looking for ways to refine and improve everything.”

The designer went on to say that “all of our launch content is in-game” but that the studio is working hard to move from “90% to 100% ship quality”.

Of course, this information only pertains to content created directly by 343 Industries’ sandbox team. This group is responsible for “all vehicles, equipment, weapons, and items the player will interact with” in Halo: Infinite. So other parts of the game, such as multiplayer and campaign, may not be in the same stage of development.

Halo: Infinite was supposed to be a launch title for the Xbox Series X | S in November. However, a poor presentation at a reveal event in September led to a wave of criticism from fans. Most of the complaints have centered on the game’s seemingly poor graphics.

This prompted Microsoft and 343 Industries to delay the project into 2021. While there is no specific release date, both companies have announced that it will launch at some point in the fall.
