The presence of broken pixels on your smartphone can immediately lead you to think about repairing it, but there’s a surprising trick that avoids it.
The latest generation screens are equipped on the one hand with highly advanced materials from a technological point of view while on the other they are very delicate. It may happen that you see a broken pixel on our smartphone that can be fixed with a trick.

Upon noticing a problem of this type, almost everyone is led to think of taking their phone for assistance. However, repair may not always be the first option to consider but, in this case, there are some tricks you can put in place personally.
Before revealing everything in detail, we have to understand if the pixel is burned or is it simply ‘blocked‘. The difference is given by the fact that the ‘frozen’ one varies its appearance depending on which subpixels are acting correctly while the burnt one appears when a pixel or a subpixel remains off. This leads me to say that stuck ones are easier to fix.
Smartphone broken pixel problem: the software that can help us
Having one or more pixels on our smartphone screen is certainly no fun. As mentioned, there may be solutions to be made personally but before proceeding we need to see if, maybe, it is still within the warranty period. If this period is behind you we can try with two software: Dead Pixels Test and Fix And JScreenFix.
Dead Pixels Test and Fix – Android
This application is very simple to use and is just for those stuck or dull pixels. Once downloaded, an interface will appear from which we can launch the program to try to solve our problem. The software tries to fix the pixels through a series of flashing screens.
JScreenFix
If we have a device with iOS or MacOS with this problem we could rely on JScreenFix which is nothing else a web app. In this case, we should go to the site and press the blue button “Launch JScreenFix“. After launching, we should drag the window to the area of the pixel that turns out to have a problem.
The site’s experts speak of a problem solved in about 10 minutes but it may happen that this is not the case. The advice, therefore, is to repeat the operation.
The possible solution, extreme, manual
In case the two softwares don’t work, we could try another way even if it’s decidedly ‘extreme’:
- With a cloth let’s press gently where the bad pixel is. It all has to happen with it screen off;
- We make a circular motion on the screen and then we proceed to turn the monitor back on;
If this technique doesn’t work the first time either, we can repeat it and if the umpteenth attempt doesn’t go the right way either, we just have to go to the store or site where we bought the phone.
