Genshin Impact Sumeru Archon Quest Act IV “King Deshret and the Three Magi”: in-depth review and discussion
Since the latest Archon Quest “Dreams, Emptiness, Deception”, the Traveler and the rest of the characters continue to investigate the disappearances of the Village Keepers (Mad Scholars) who were exiled to Aaru’s village by the Akademia in Genshin Impact Sumeru Archon Quest Act IV .
We are once again collaborating Cino for now and investigating with him as we uncover clues and information about Isak’s grandfather. Cyno is proving once again that he is someone you shouldn’t mess with as he does a quick job of intimidating some men who were spreading misinformation about Scarlet King (King Deshret).
His personality and ideals are evident during the quest, strong-willed with high moral values for justice. Although in later parts of the story, his composure breaks a bit when he finds out that he is indirectly helping the Akademia’s Sages, that doesn’t stop him from righting his wrongs and getting to the bottom of this incident.

After Cyno, Dehya takes control of the story for a while as she conjures up a plan to find the source of the disinformation about the resurrection of the Scarlet King (King Deshret). Dehya is yet another character who really shone in this Act of the Archon Quest. As someone who comes from the desert and lives outside the Samiel Wall, you’d think she would feel a bit of a bitter resentment towards the people of the Forest within the Walls, judging by her opening monologue when we reach Caravan Ribet.
But it was all a ruse to root out the radicals who spoke of the resurrection. Just as Dehya explained, swearing war and fighting between the two regions would not help anyone, it would only make the situation worse. Having been a mercenary, she might be self-centered and act very brazen in the heat of the moment, as she didn’t hesitate to get her arm cut off, but that doesn’t stop her from having clear principles and sticking to them (and even fighting in some cases).

Finally, the last character to be retouched is Alhaitham, the most mysterious of the rest of the cast. Having been gone throughout the first part of the story, he returns with some information about the Village Guardians alone and asks the Traveler to join him. This research somewhat quells the player’s curiosity he might have about Alhaitham. Overall it seems to be the same as the last time we met him; closed, he keeps his point of view, he’s mostly there for personal gain and he’s a great savvy.

However, this search for the Archons in particular has really emphasized the lives of the Desert People and the conflict they have with the Akademia and the people of the Forest. Suffice it to say that their anger and resentment are fully justified. Being segregated from the forest and looked down upon can make anyone feel anger, to the point where the desert people clung to the hope of being able to resurrect their true God, the Scarlet King (King Deshret). But later on, it is evident that it was only lies that were spread because of the Akademia to dissuade them from their true plans.
As it stands, war is useless and we soon realize that in the end the Scarlet King and the Great Lord Rukkhadevata were indeed on good terms with each other. In a shocking twist, it was strongly implied that the Lesser Lord Kusanali (Nahida) was actually the Greater Lord Rukkhadevata, but he was turned into a child because he used all of his powers to prevent the spread of the Forbidden Knowledge. .

With the truth out and the internal conflict cleared up, the characters all unite in solidarity with a mission in mind, to defeat the evil Sages and save their God, the Lower Lord Kusanali. Overall, Genshin Impact Sumeru Archon Quest Act IV “King Deshret and the Three Magi” and ACT III “Dreams, Emptiness, Deception” were incredible and is a great preparation for the final act for the conclusion of the Sumeru Archon Quest to be be released hopefully in the next patch, 3.2.
