Sprawling map
It is worth taking a moment to talk about the Warzone map (called Verdansk). With games like this, much of your enjoyment (or lack thereof) comes from how enjoyable the map is.
Fortunately, the Warzone map is top notch. Easily accommodates 150 players, providing plenty of locations and opportunities for epic firefights. The map may not have the maniacal creativity of a more cartoonish game like Fortnite, but the whole thing is based on somber realism and clever design.
If you are a fan of the franchise, you will see many memorable places all over the map. This is a cute Easter egg that links this game more deeply to the famous franchise.

Loot some loot (or not)
So far, we’ve focused entirely on Warzone’s battle royale mode. However, it has a different mode for you to enjoy called Looting.
As for the modalities, Plunder is a mixed bag. In this mode, survival is no longer your main goal. Instead, you’re trying to loot as much as possible in teams of three and take him to the helicopter drop zones. And you can regenerate as much as you like in this mode – no gulag battles or station revivals required.
Overall, it’s a nice idea with poor execution. Matches seem unnecessarily long (up to 30 minutes) and the sprawling map is wasted as everyone ends up colliding in the same general area.
Final verdict
So is Call of Duty: Warzone worth playing? Of course! It’s free, so you have nothing to lose. And it’s a nice game with fun variety and a growing player base.
However, it won’t magically convert someone who hates the battle royale genre or the CoD franchise. If it sounds like you, skip this one completely.
