Occupation of Survival – Immortal is the most recent entry into the world of action survival Role playing game Games. 101XP LIMITED released the game globally in March 2022, after launching a beta test in August last year. It brings together the well-known elements of base building, crafting and combat. It is set in the fantasy world of the Shattered Coast frontier, at the dawn of a new era. Here is our review of Craft of Survival – Immortal, with all the good and bad qualities of the game.

Survive in a world full of dungeons against monsters and zombies

Starting with the Art of Survival – Immortal revision, the gameplay is quite straightforward and simplistic. Let’s start with some essentials, like food and weapons. The dungeon we spread out in has some basic enemies that are easy to defeat. This game has a mechanic that makes it different from other RPGs: splash damage on all attacks.

Yes, you can just group enemies and attack them all at the same time, and there is no need to select particular targets, as you have to do in many other games of the same genre. It’s fun to fight humans and monsters at the same time without having to select who to attack first.

Upgrade your skills and progress in the mysterious Arena

As we progress, we can get better weapons and armor sets. There is a wide variety to choose from and we can always find something that suits us best. We can upgrade different skills like Intelligence, physical damage, magical damage, and others as we get skill points every time we level up. This helps in fighting stronger opponents and in boss fights.

A large map awaits us in Craft Of Survival, providing us with a number of options in which to travel to gather resources and complete missions. Also, as the story continues, new locations are unlocked. The Craft of Survival soundtrack is very relaxing and great to listen to in the background. It is one of the best aspects of this game.

This is one of the most anticipated features of Craft of Survival. The Arena Of Glory is the position on the map where we will be able to fight other players. It’s not open yet and should start working in future updates. A PvP feature adds a fun element to games. Especially if it is well balanced and the matchmaking is fair and based on the skill level of the players.

Begin your journey in one of four character classes

Craft Of Survival Immortal offers moderate character customization. We can play as one of four races Of Humans, Dark Elves, Half-OrcsAnd High elves. We can play as male or female of all four races. Although physical personalization is limited to the face, facial features and hair.

Each race has a brief description of how they contributed to the land. There are several passives available for selection for all breeds, regardless of the breed we choose:

  • Barbarian – Increased physical damage to all types of enemies: humans and monsters.
  • Magician – Increased magic damage to all types of enemies: humans and monsters.
  • Stoic – Reduction of negative effects on your character.
  • Knight – More maximum health for your character.

This gives us, the players, an edge to the game. However, the developers could have given us more options to physically customize our character. More classes / races to play would also add more depth to the character.

Craft of Survival provides a well-planned storyline for the campaign

Along with the gameplay, Craft Of Survival also focuses on its history. Many RPGs in the mobile market don’t have a well-made history, but this game is somewhat of an exception. We are an immortal who has risen from the dead, trying to create our destiny in the world, after a shattering rift has opened in the land, hence the name Shattered coastal border.

From time to time we can get story missions along with side missions and the story itself is immersive. The campaign helps you progress smoothly and directly, which in turn makes it easier to unlock more parts of the story. We can say that Craft Of Survival does a good job of keeping us involved in the main storyline.

The energy system gives the game a huge disappointment

Many mobile RPGs tend to have an energy system. This turns out to be one of the biggest drawbacks of this type of games. It’s possible to design a good energy management system, but that’s not the case in Craft Of Survival: Immortal. We have 100 energies at the most and we use at least 8 energies every time we want to “run” anywhere on the map.

Walking takes longer, so many players will choose to run, thus spending a lot of energy. The recharge time for an energy is long, so you have to manage your energy very carefully so as not to run out when you need it most. This is what makes this game go from good to average. This energy system slows down progression and this is where the developers could have done better.

Not the monsters, but the IAPs often turn out to be the real villains

Craft of Survival is sold as a free-to-play game. RPGs with Free-To-Play elements are often full of microtransactions and this game is no exception. From the very beginning, we are offered various offers that can help us kickstart our Craft of Survival journey.

These offers are quite cheap, but they can drag players into the cycle of buying bigger and bigger offers, thus making us spend a lot of money on the game. The standard in-app pricing of this game’s premium currency, called “Crystals”, goes from here 2 USD to 155 USD.

We can progress well without spending a dime, but doing so can take much, much longer. This monetization system, along with the energy system, is one of the biggest drawbacks of Craft of Survival.

Final verdict

Overall, according to one review, Craft of Survival – Immortal is a decent game aside from the energy system and monetization. If you like survival games filled with a lot of resource gathering and crafting, and if you like city building, then this may be the game for you. By today’s standards, it’s an average RPG and is somewhat similar to similar games Last day on earth: survival And Grim Soul Survival.

It specifically adds nothing new to the already oversaturated mobile RPG market, except for integrating more storyline into the main gameplay. If you are looking for a time-killing RPG, you can have fun with this one.
