The original Doom games helped the pioneers of multiplayer online shooters. The new game continues in this tradition, but is content to keep the multiplayer simple and lean.

There are the familiar Team Deathmatch type modes and other familiar games like the King of the Hill mode. There are also more exotic things like “Freeze Tag”.

To be honest, multiplayer is a bit straightforward. Still, it’s built on the satisfying combat foundations of the campaign mode, and the fun of shooting familiar weapons like the shotgun hasn’t gone away, even after all these years.

Final verdict

Doom is more than just a control. It’s one of the best shooters of 2016, and no game has really been able to dethrone it in the years since.

It’s pure, adrenaline-pumping action, with a side of demons, chainsaws, and blood. Whether you’re a fan of the originals or not, Doom (2016) deserves a place on your shelf!
