Not just a cooperative

The main attraction of this game is the cooperative gameplay. However, Valve has introduced some fun alternative game types to keep you and your friends busy.

While there are some special modes like Survival and Scavenge, the main alternative game type is Versus. The premise is nice and simple: four players try to play a level normally while another four take control of the named creatures in each level.

This is the perfect way to double the number of people playing by increasing the overall difficulty. While you can ultimately predict how the game’s AI will react to different actions, there’s no telling what your friends will try to do in their quest to take you down!

Final verdict

Left 4 Dead 2 is still worth playing. While various zombie modes have been added to FPS games over the years, there is still no other game like this one out there. Come for the zombies and stay for the surprisingly deep cooperative gameplay!
