A real party
The highlight of most Bioware games is the wide variety of characters joining your party. This game is no different, offering immersive characters with a full voice to help bring your fantasy adventure to life.
While it looks like an old hat now, one of the best parts of this sequel game was taking control of the different gang members. In combat, you can trust AI (whose behaviors you can infinitely change) or micromanage each character class to make better use of their strengths.
Depending on how much you love micromanagement, combat can be either very engaging or a slow task.
Fight
As mentioned above, you can personally take control of any party member during the fight. This allows you to make sure that each character does what he does best – thieves sneak into the back, tank fighters with villains, and so on.
It’s really fun … at first. Eventually, you will want to speed up the battles by trusting the AI AND you can only trust the AI as long as you can launch your desktop tower.
No matter how much you change the behavior of the characters, they surprise you in the worst way. When you need help with an enemy, your party members will inevitably pursue a fleeing enemy or otherwise ignore you.
Therefore, while the ability to take control of the party was innovative at the time, what this game lacks in combat is more intuitive and easier to use AI.
