Game

Gamers who have played previous entries in the Paper Mario series are likely to find some surprises here. While you can still upgrade your weapons and equipment, this feels more like a traditional action-adventure game. There is no experience system, and the developers have watered down most of the RPG elements. Occasionally real-time battles also appear, although the vast majority of fights are still turn-based.
Fighting a battle in Paper Mario: The Origami King is even more puzzle-based than ever before. At the start of the fight, you need to quickly sort your opponents, grouping them together. The ultimate goal is to make your attacks as efficient and powerful as possible. Getting it right takes skill, but it’s essential to be successful. Otherwise, Mario will take too much damage before you can defeat your enemies. A good variety of items also increases the depth of combat, giving you additional options.
New game mechanics are introduced in Paper Mario: The Origami King at regular intervals. This of course to compensate for the fact that you can no longer level up and acquire extra skills. Instead, the game adds extra skills and functionality as you progress in different areas. Despite being a much more linear experience, it works well and keeps the gameplay balanced. The new mechanics also come at just the right moments, preventing the fight from going stale.
