A new rumor coming out of China today claims that the upcoming Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will have a 200 MP main camera using a “next generation” 1/1.28″ type LOFIC sensor. The phone would also have a 200 MP periscope telephoto lens with 3x optical zoom and f/2.4 aperture. This camera uses a 1/1.56″ type sensor. The telephoto lens will support macro shooting from around 15cm.
This is a very different setup compared to the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max’s 50MP main camera and 50MP periscope telephoto lens with 5x optical zoom. Telemacro focusing will also be closer in the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max, 15 cm versus 30 cm.

According to past leaks, the Xiaomi 18 Pro Max will be powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro SoC. The phone will have a 6.9-inch flat LIPO OLED display and will retain its predecessor’s signature rear display, sporting improved speakers and a better vibration motor as well.
