Frustrating navigation

It seems mild compared to the other problems, but one of the biggest annoyances in Pathologic 2 is navigation.

The icons guide you in the direction of specific goals, but navigating various streets and landmarks around the city can be difficult. And the graphics (which are disappointingly dark as well as being deliberately dark) don’t help anything.

“Patience” is one of the few meters your character doesn’t have. But strolling through the doomsday city will drain your patience in real life well before the 12-day countdown is complete!

Final verdict

Is Pathologic 2 worth playing? No, unless you were an absolute fanatic of the first game. The sequel continues the model of wrapping interesting stories and ideas in boring and annoying gameplay.

There are occasional memorable moments all around, but you have to slog through a lot of terrible bits just to try the occasional cool stuff. Ultimately, Pathologic 2 is a game that is best to distance yourself socially.
