Game
Portal 2 is chock full of challenging puzzles that you need to figure out on your own. The game doesn’t hold your hand to do that. The Portal Gun can fire at both orange and blue portals that you can walk through. Shoot a blue portal on a wall near you, then shoot an orange portal on a wall near a door you need to reach. You will be able to reach areas that you would not otherwise be able to travel to, as the portals are linked.
You can go through portals unscathed. You can also send items through portals and keep their momentum. Suppose we see a companion Cube darting through the air. You can quickly shoot a portal and have it hit a switch at the same speed it was traveling before.
There is a lot in Portal 2 to keep you busy. There are malevolent turrets that want you dead. There are jump pads to give you better height when you need to reach something. And there are inanimate objects to help you achieve each goal. Many of the puzzles take more than a few simple steps to solve and can be quite verbose.
Riddles
There is a wide variety of puzzles to complete before meeting the sadistic AI GLaDOS from the original Portal again, but she makes a return. This part of the game really gives Valve’s attention to detail a chance to shine, as seeing GLaDOS return adds a growing tension that transforms the game during the second half of the game. As the game progresses, you will find that every environment where you are forced to challenge puzzles ranges from strange medicinal test chambers to huge underground caverns, which opens up the game in a big way.
Every moment of
Portal 2 it’s just as satisfying as the last one, with simple yet complex puzzle solutions that will have you really puzzled as you try to figure out what the game wants you to do. There is always a feeling of euphoria following your brief period of trying to “work things out” and an addictive rush that comes with figuring it all out and putting it together.
