Backpacks, challenges and exploration

An open world game as beautiful as Marvel’s Spider-Man deserves to be explored. Fortunately, there are plenty of reasons to scour Manhattan as a wall crawler. From collectible backpacks offering small Easter eggs to photo locations that showcase the beauty of the Big Apple, there’s stuff to be found around every corner.
There is also a variety of side missions and challenges to tackle, as well as crimes to stop. The challenges can get quite heated in some places, but they never seem unfair or too difficult. The side missions are pretty good too, but nothing immediately memorable. Although a side mission allows you to chase pigeons as Spider-Man, then there is that.
Final verdict

Marvel’s Spider-Man easily takes the top spot as my favorite Spider-Man game. In fact, it may still be my favorite superhero game. The story feels true to the source material and also provides enough twists that even longtime Spidey fans will see something new.
Plus, the gameplay is fun enough that even people who aren’t interested in Peter Parker’s trials will find something to love.
All in all, this is definitely an adventure worth continuing before moving on to the remastered edition that will be out soon! Spider-Man Remastered will be included as part of Spider-Man: Miles Morales Ultimate Edition for PS5, available November 12.
