It’s the little things

Totally Accurate Battlegrounds has some wonderful little touches that are fun to play in the game for a short time. You can enter gangsta mode, where you press a button (“G” by default, of course) and your character will start banging and tilting his gun to the side.

This certainly reveals your position, but the trade-off is that you look total badass as people come to kill you.

There is also an Easter egg, if you enter gangsta mode while wearing the Adidas tracksuit. Instead of beatboxing, your worm-human hybrid will start playing Tri Poloski, a popular Russian dance tune that results in three strips. Quite funny.

You can also chat via text in the game – comics will appear above your head – which is a fun way to taunt your enemies or try to get out of a bad situation.

Final verdict

Totally Accurate Battlegrounds teases the battle royale genre in an excellent way. But like all jokes, once you’ve experienced it once, it’s not all that funny. And it just gets less fun every time you relive it.

The game is cheap, so if you have friends who like battle royales, you could probably enjoy a few hours with this game. But as with all April Fool’s Day jokes, it will be forgotten very soon.
