A weapon for every occasion
There are a ton of different handguns and melee weapons that make up your arsenal and it takes a long time before you get tired of experimenting with them. Some guns fire darts that nail enemies to walls, others destroy them with blades, while others are accurate and emit a satisfying thud when making critical hits. There is a gun that fires a wall of light, another that fires gravitational fields that automatically implode, and another that fires turrets that fire bullets at your enemies. They are wonderfully varied.
Your melee weapon choices are as varied as handguns and feel very satisfying and impactful. You can wield swords, sticks, axes, hammers, whips, claws, scythes, and probably a few more as well. As you go into combat with your favorite weapons, you will see your enemies being cut, shot and smashed as you hit them.
Here’s the tricky part, though: you have to go out and find blueprints for every Warframe and weapon. And then you have to create them. The game doesn’t really tell you where to find these things or how to get the resources needed to complete them. So, once again, you will go to the wiki for the answers. Thankfully, it’s incredibly detailed and well maintained.
Spoiled for choice
Another problem – but this is more than just a “good problem” – is that there are a lot of Warframes. It can be overwhelming to try to decide which one to choose and then commit to empowering it. But they all have the potential to become weapons of mass destruction – it all depends on how you build them.
After investing in a Warframe, you’ll happily waste hours on incredibly detailed visual customization options. You can change the headdresses; equip different styles on shoulders, legs, chest and back; change a whole range of colors on every single part; and you can wear a cloak – style is your choice.
You can customize each of your weapons with the same level of detail. There is another name for Warframe thanks to this incredible customization system: Fashion Frame.

Really free to play
When you hear free-to-play, the first thing you want to know is how free is it and what do people who pay get that I don’t? In terms of power levels and access to content: nothing.
This game is completely free and not pay-to-win. Paying will only get you access to things faster, like Warframes and weapons, but all you’re really doing is paying for not playing.
The only thing you’ll have to pay for, just for convenience, is more slots for storing Warframes and weapons. But you get a free lot of Platinum (the paid currency) when you first start the game. If you don’t waste it on other things, this will be more than enough for a long time.
