Independent developer GoodbyeWorld Games and publisher Skybound Games have announced Before Your Eyes, a narrative game with a very special feature. You control things by just blinking!
What is the game about? Your character travels with a Ferryman who must take souls to the afterlife. Along the way, your character reflects on their own life, including the happiest and most tragic experiences.

It is played with the help of a webcam. Blinking the right way and at the right time can help you control what your character sees and remembers. Otherwise, the movement in the game is automatic, making it a little more like an interactive movie than a traditional video game.

The goal is for you and your character to “learn the ultimate truth” at the heart of the game. And it has been at the center of developer life for many years. Game Director and Composer Oliver Lewin revealed, “We’ve been working on this game since college, for nearly a decade, so it’s really the definition of a labor of love.”

And other developers hope that the unconventional control system can change the way we design and play. Game Writer and Creative Director Graham Parkes said, “We can’t wait to put it in the hands of players, so they can finally experience this whole new way of using technology to tell human stories. It’s really something you have to try. in first person”.
We’ll find out very soon if the game lives up to the hype. Before Your Eyes will be available via Steam on April 8.
