The site dedicated to allowing players to transfer their progress from previous games to Hitman 3 has crashed, preventing the feature from working as it should.

IO Interactive has configured the website to allow users to transfer items, unlocks and rewards from Hitman and Hitman 2 in the latest version. However, with the website down, players have no way to access the content.

Speaking on Twitter, a spokesperson for the studio confirmed that it was working on getting the site up and running again and would update everyone when the progress transfer was up and running.

Another update arrived on the Twitter account hours later, with some progress being made.

While it is possible to play Hitman 3 without transferring your progress, it may pose problems if players later decide to transfer their saves. The process clears all current Hitman 3 data, which means that any progress made in the new title will be cleared while the transfer is being performed.

This isn’t the first controversy that has hit Hitman 3 in the past few days. Earlier this week, IO Interactive sparked criticism when it emerged that players who own Hitman 2 on PC would be forced to purchase the game again on the Epic Games Store to access its content.

The developer later changed locations and offered an 80% discounted access pass to players so they can access all previously released content.
