Though loved by fans, LA Noire (2011) and Max Payne 3 (2012) are both aging titles. But that didn’t stop Rockstar Games from silently adding surprise updates to PC versions of these games yesterday, including free DLC download for each game.
In addition to the free DLC, the most important news related to this update is support for 32-bit operating systems (although this will not work for VR Case Files for LA Noire). However, the story behind this surprise update is almost more compelling than the free content.
Yesterday, Rockstar accidentally pulled all of its games from Steam. When they put them back in place, the company accidentally added the removed 2003 game to the Midnight Club 2 list, allowing players the opportunity to purchase this rare title for a few hours before deleting it again.
What does this mean for the surprise updates of LA Noire and Max Payne 3? It is possible that this was an accidental move by Rockstar as they were trying to restore their titles to Steam. Either way, players can take advantage of free DLC and other enhancements for two of the best games Rockstar has ever made!
