Square Enix has confirmed that the Black Panther – War for Wakanda expansion for Marvel’s Avengers will be released on August 17, and will bring the royal hero to the game as a playable character.
In addition to bringing Black Panther to Marvel’s Avengers, the expansion will also introduce two new villains and a host of additional content. This includes new enemies, an extra environment, and new Drop Zone and Threat Sector multiplayer missions.
Square Enix will also host a War Table stream on August 16 at 10am PT / 1pm ET to detail the War for Wakanda update ahead of its release.
Starting today through August 1, Marvel’s Avengers is offering an All-Access weekend, which means players can try the game for free and carry on any progress if they purchase it later. This coincides with a promotion that awards extra XP and reduced prices in the in-game store.
Marvel’s Avengers is currently available at 40% off the regular price. Several special limited-time promotions are available this weekend, including a 400% bonus on experience gained, a 50% discount in the in-game Marketplace, and the return of the Tachyon Anomaly event.
