What to do if you receive the email
The agents of the Postal Police have also shed light on what to do in case of receipt of the false communication. The steps to watch out for are:
- The first indication is that of do not click anything in the email and of do not enter your own times nor the personal informations;
- The Postal Police Commissioner underlines how they shouldn’t open these messages especially by phone. If we really want to open them, let’s do it from pc since we could see in full the address to which we will be sent. Typically, it’s a portal that only serves to steal user credentials;
- In the event of a full-blown scam, let’s go to a police station for report the scam so as to allow agents to take the portal offline and trace the scammers.
The information provided by the agents will be useful in order not to fall into such a trap. But the scams don’t end there but they also touch the field of motorists like the gas station scam in which the victim is left with the vehicle broken down.
