A virus alert has recently spread which could affect the smartphones of many web users: there are many apps involved, delete them immediately.
Recently, a particular virus was discovered which soon spread like wildfire and affected many smartphones around the world. In particular, the users most at risk are those who use a device that mounts the Android system.

Last March, cybersecurity experts discovered a banking trojan named Anatsa. What shocked everyone was the dangerous and rapid spread of this trojan that started in the United States and the United Kingdom and then reached Germany, Switzerland and Austria. This suggests that Italy too could be a future target of hackers.
The situation is monitored by the experts of ThreatFabricthe same ones who communicated about how the cybercriminals are distributing Anatsa through the Google Play Store. At the moment, in fact, the number of app installations containing this malware would be high.
Anatsa, the new dangerous malware targeting smartphones: over 30,000 downloads of infected apps
After a period of hiatus, hackers are back to worrying users around the world with a malvertising campaign which leads the victims to download apps, from the Google store, which are used as droppers. The apps that are the focus of cybercriminals are very specific and heavily downloaded.
The apps that turn out to have this very serious problem are in the office category. Specifically, they are apps that allow you to view PDF files and dedicated work suites. Whenever the researchers of ThreatFabric they reported an app with malware to Google and it was deleted. On the other hand, the hackers immediately uploaded a new one but with a different name.
These infected apps penetrated users’ smartphones via the request for an external resource present on GitHub. There, additional elements were downloaded that were none other than the Anatsa payloads. Once all is completed, the malware proceeded to recover all the user’s sensitive data especially the account data, going to overlay phishing pages when the user tried to access his home banking.
At the moment, the malware appears to be related to about 600 financial applications present in the world, which makes it very feared worldwide. Anatsa is not the only malware that is causing concern, there is another virus affecting other apps and represents a very high risk.
