Almost three years after his formal exit from Apple, famed industrial and product designer Jony Ive officially broke off relations with Cupertino after both parties agreed not to extend his consulting contract. In 2019, Sir Jonathan Paul Ive reportedly signed a deal with Apple worth over $ 100 million. The contract was recently renewed, but both sides decided not to extend it.

Jony Ive joined Apple in 1992 and is credited with designing some of Apple’s most iconic devices, including the Apple Newton, the original 2001 iPod, as well as early iPhone and iPad models. I also played a key role in designing the iMac and Macbook lines and the original iPod headphones and in 2013 I also worked in software design with iOS 7.
