A new report from Bloomberg says Apple is looking to boost its revenue this year by raising the average selling price of the iPhone 15 lineup. This would be enabled by 2023’s iPhone 15 Pro Max, which will be the most expensive iPhone ever, but there will also be a change in release distribution.

Apple may raise iPhone 15 prices, to produce more iPhone 15 Pros

Despite the economic uncertainty this year, Apple believes its total sales will remain unchanged at around 85 million units. There will be fewer orders for the basic iPhone 15 due to problems with CMOS sensors, and Apple will ramp up production of the iPhone 15 Pro to compensate for the lack of budget iPhone 15s.

To some extent, it makes sense for Apple to raise its prices, as we’ve seen most manufacturers do so over the past year or so. Indeed, during its 2022 launch event, Apple said it would not raise prices for its iPhone 14 range, but that was only true for China and the US, while European iPhone prices have risen significantly.
