Apple yesterday unveiled three new smartwatches at its Far Out event: the new Watch SE, Watch Series 8, and Watch Ultra. In addition to these, Apple has also announced new straps for the Ultra model: Trail Loop, Alpine Loop and Ocean Band.

With a 49mm case, the Apple Watch Ultra is the largest smartwatch ever made by the Cupertino tech giant. But that doesn’t mean that the three bands mentioned above can’t be used with some older Apple Watches as Apple claims they are compatible with 44mm and 45mm case size Apple Watch as well. Since there is no mention of smaller case sizes, it is safe to assume that the 49mm straps for the Watch Ultra are not compatible with them.

That said, if you have a 45mm band meant for the non-Ultra model, you can use it with the Apple Watch Ultra as Apple claims that the 45mm bands work with 42mm, 44mm, and 49mm cases.
