During this year’s Google I / O, Google left out any mention of the Pixel foldable smartphone that has been rumored for many months now. This is the same foldout that might be called the Pixel Notepad and was believed to cost around $ 1,400 at launch.

According to a new report by The Elet, the new Pixel foldable device has been postponed again. The report says that people familiar with the project said that “the deferral probably depends on the product not being as complete as Google wishes.” This isn’t, however, the first time we’ve heard this. Additionally, sources claim that Google was in talks with Samsung Display regarding Notepad.

A report from November last year showed that Google would not launch the foldable until the second half of 2022, as evidenced by Google’s cancellation of parts destined for its foldable device. That relationship of DSCC he also cited sources that Google didn’t think the product was competitive enough.

The Pixel Notepad was supposed to use the panels provided by Samsung Display with a 7.57-inch main internal display and a 5.78-inch external secondary display, both using Samsung’s UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) construction.

It was previously reported that Samsung has a target number of 15 million foldable units that it would like to ship globally by the end of this year, taking into account only the new folds it plans to release later this year. It was reported that Samsung had already started mass production of components for its new foldable devices – the Galaxy Z Fold4 and Z Flip4.

Ultimately, Google never confirmed whether a Pixel foldout was on the way, nor did it ever confirm a time frame – the previously planned launch windows were all based on rumors and speculation. Based on recent reports, it appears that Google is willing to wait until its offering is up to par to compete with other leaflets from major OEMs.
