The Honor X40 series is getting a GT variant, a rumor suggested last week. Today we know it was true, as the company officially unveiled it with a teaser and launch date. The smartphone will arrive on Thursday 13 October and will have a Snapdragon 888.

The official teaser also revealed three cameras in a huge circular camera setup on the back, lined up in an X formation with the LED flash.

The front of the phone will have a single hole in the center and we’re pretty confident the panel is an OLED, as the less powerful and affordable X40 vanilla sports an AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate.

The Honor X40 GT is already available for pre-order on all major online retailers in China without a price yet – it is likely to remain the last unknown. There are three days left until the event, which means that we expect to know more details and features about this phone which so far has clearly only been launched in China.
