Huawei will host an event on July 27 where we will see the debut of HarmonyOS 3. Richard Yu, CEO of Huawei, has decided to anticipate a new feature of the new platform on his personal Weibo account: new widgets on the home screen.

Each app group can now have separate tabs within the folder on the home page and can also be grouped into a rectangle, allowing quick access to some programs while keeping the group together. Here is the video, shared on Twitter by @ RODENT950:

HarmonyOS is Huawei’s internal operating system, based on AOSP, after all it is an open source platform. However, it is not a simple skin or a makeover like many other user interfaces; Huawei has worked tirelessly over the past year and a half to make Harmony as independent as possible.

The July 27 event will be held in China and Yu is likely to reveal the national update timeline. As soon as we have news of the global launch, we will update you.
