Instagram is testing a feature that will allow users to add posts to their profiles


Instagram reported the chronological feed last month. Now the social network is experimenting with another requested feature: some users report that they have the ability to add a post to their profile.

Currently, users can pin a story, which can contain a post, but it has not been possible to pin the posts directly. That could change as soon as a Meta rep wrote to TechCrunch: “We are testing a new feature that allows people to post to their profile.”

Work on this has been going on for some time, Alessandro Paluzzi dug into the Instagram app and found the option in January:

Now the Pin option is actually enabled for some users. Not only that, as the new feature is still being tested. If / when this is enabled for everyone, it will allow users to promote older posts while continuing to share new content.
