Apple has released the iOS 26.5 release candidate build for developers, and that means two things: the public release is coming very soon (tomorrow or within a few days, next week at most), and now there’s an official changelog from Apple.
This reveals what has been rumored until now: With iOS 26.5, Apple adds support for end-to-end encryption in RCS messaging. However, there are some caveats about it.

First, the feature will be in beta. So, it’s important to note that end-to-end RCS encryption will be “only available with supported operators” and “will be rolled out over time.” So it won’t be an instant change once iOS 26.5 arrives. Yet it is coming.
And when it launches, Android devices will be able to communicate with iPhones via RCS in an end-to-end encrypted manner.
