Oppo introduced its latest A-series device in China today with the A2 Pro. It features a 6.7-inch curved FHD+ AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and is powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 7050 chipset . The other thing worth noting is that Oppo promises that the 5,000mAh battery inside the A2 Pro will comfortably last for at least 4 years after purchase. If the battery health drops below 80% within 4 years from the date of purchase, Oppo will offer a free battery replacement.

According to Oppo’s tests, the battery retained 88% of its original capacity after 1,000 charging cycles, which should be enough to handle one charge per day for four years before dropping below 80%. The 5,000mAh cell features 67W wired charging and a proprietary motor for battery health and a power chip that monitors charging and prevents excessive heat and overcharging.

The A2 Pro comes with up to 12GB of RAM and 512GB of UFS 3.1 storage. Despite the large camera island and four cutouts, the rear only houses a 64 MP main camera (f/1.7 aperture, 0.7 µm pixels) and a 2 MP auxiliary depth camera. The software side is covered by ColorOS 13.1 on top of Android 13. You also get an IP54 water and dust resistance rating and an in-display fingerprint scanner.

Oppo A2 Pro is available in Vast Black, Desert Brown (vegan leather) and Twilight colors. Pricing is set at CNY 1,799 ($248) for the 8,128GB model and rises to CNY 2,399 ($330) for the 12/512GB model. Open sales in China are expected to begin on September 22.
