After several weeks full of leaks, Oppo has finally unveiled its Reno8 series of three smartphones. Reno8 carries MediaTek’s Dimensity 1300 chipset and 80W charging, the Pro model debuts with Qualcomm’s new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset while the Pro + gets a Dimensity 8100 Plus.
All three phones feature AMOLED displays, 50 МP main cams, and 4,500mAh batteries with support for 80W SuperVOOC flash charging, though the Pro variants add some nice additions to the camera and the internal NPU Mari X Silicon by Oppo found in the flagship Oppo Find X5 Pro.

The top-dog Reno8 Pro + gets a 6.7-inch 120Hz OLED with a punched hole for its 32MP selfie cam. The front shooter also offers autofocus functionality, a Pro + exclusive feature. Another aesthetic exclusivity here is the thin bezels: Reno8 Pro + has 2.37mm top and bottom bezels while the side bezels measure just 1.4mm, which Oppo says are the thinnest on all of its Reno phones to date.

Oppo chose Dimensity 8100 Max paired with 12 GB of LPDDR5 RAM and 256 GB of UFS 3.1 memory. The rear houses the same 50 MP (1 / 1.56 “, 1.0 µm) Sony IMX766 sensor as the Find X5 Pro along with Oppo’s internal MariSolicon X NPU, which promises better AI noise reduction and 4K Ultra Night video The second cam on the back is an 8MP ultrawide snapper while the third is a 2MP macro shooter.

ColorOS 12.1 on Android 12 covers the front of the software while the 4,500mAh battery features 80W SuperVOOC charging.
Oppo Reno8 Pro + is available in gray, black and green. The base model with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage retails for CNY 3,699 ($ 556) while the 12 / 256GB casing costs CNY 3,999 ($ 600).

Oppo Reno8 Pro is the first commercially announced phone with Qualcomm’s brand new Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 chipset. The new 7-series SoC is built on a 4nm process with a cluster of Kryo CPUs clocked at up to 2.4Ghz along with the Adreno 662 GPU. Oppo is also bringing its Mari X Silicon NPU and the same Sony IMX766 sensor. 50MP, 8MP ultrawide snapper and 2MP macro cam as on the Reno8 Pro + model.

Elsewhere, the Reno8 Pro reverts to a 6.62-inch AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and also boasts a 32MP selfie cam albeit without AF. The rest of the specs includes ColorOS 12.1 with Android 12 and a 4,500mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC charging.
Reno8 Pro is available in blue, black and gradient colors with a base price of 2,999 CNY ($) for the 8/128 GB model. 8/256 GB CNY 3,199 ($ 180) and 12/256 GB CNY 3,499 ($ 525) finishes are also available. Open sales in China begin on 11 June.

The cheapest entry is the Reno8 which starts at CNY 2,499 ($ 375) for the 8/128 GB version and goes all the way up to CNY 2,999 ($) for the 12/256 GB model. You get a 90Hz AMOLED that measures 6.43 inches. The rear houses a 50MP main shooter along with a 2MP monochrome sensor and a 2MP macro cam.

MediaTek’s Dimensity 1300 chipset is at the helm. The rest of the data sheet includes a 4,500 mAh battery with 80 W charging and Color OS12.1 on the software side. Reno8 will go on open sale from 1 June.
