Last month, Samsung teased that it will add “a new layer of privacy” to the Galaxy S26 Ultra with the new privacy screen feature. Now the company has shared a short video showing how it works: it can make the entire screen or specific parts of it appear black when viewed from the side, without affecting readability.

Here is the video. In this case the entire screen is darkened for any unwanted viewers when the Zero-peeking privacy switch is enabled. What’s interesting is that the phone has per-pixel control over this feature and can only dim notifications with sensitive information.

You can choose how to control it: you can activate or deactivate it manually or let the phone activate it automatically, for example, when you leave.

This feature is apparently so cool that even Apple wants it – Ice universe says it will be on MacBooks in 2029.

Some laptops have a basic version, for example HP calls it Sure View while Lenovo calls it PrivacyGuard. However, they can only enable it for the entire screen and not just parts of it like the Galaxy S26 Ultra will be able to do.
