Samsung has just announced the global implementation of its Oled G6 game monitor of Odyssey – the first 500 Hz OLED monitor in the world.

Samsung Odyssey OLED G6 Gaming Monitor with refresher frequency at 500Hz Goes Global

The monitor includes a 27-inch OLED QD panel with a 500Hz refresher frequency, 0.03 ms GTG (gray-gray) response time and a resolution of 2560 x 1440px. The panel is also VESA DISPLAYHDR TRUE BLACK 500 Certificate, which means that the panel can reach 500 nit, covers 95% of the DCI-P3 colors space and that black is really black. After all it’s an OLED screen.

Samsung says that the monitor can go up to 1000 nit, although this only refers to a small patches, only 3% to be exact.

In any case, 500 nit should be more than enough, especially combined with the layer without samsung glow on top. The Odyssey OLED G6 also presents an OLED SAFEGUGD+ technology which prevents burns even during extensive use.
