Samsung recently began beta testing One UI 5, the next version of its skin based on Android 13, the latest iteration of the operating system that Google launched earlier this month.

These beta testing phases usually last at least a few weeks, but of course everyone is curious about the finalized One UI 5 build release date. And according to a new rumor today, it will be October 17 or 19. That’s when the Galaxy S22 models will start getting the update.

Samsung's One UI 5.0 based on Android 12 has an expected release date

This is incredibly specific information right there, especially for a software version, which could always be hampered by random unexpected bugs. It also comes from a source with no proven track record, so now would be the best time to take all of this with a good dose of salt.

That said, October seems like a pretty reasonable timeline – betas started in early August after all, and around 10 weeks of testing should theoretically be enough to iron out all possible kinks. We’ll have to wait and see if this works, though.
