As noted by EsperMishaal Rahman (via Twitter), there is a new nearby sharing feature coming to Android. This feature was seen in the latest version of the Google Play Services app, although currently inactive.
Sharing Nearby will have a new option called “Your Devices” which will list devices in your vicinity that are also on the same Google account. This would directly start transferring a file to a receiving device without having to approve the transfer.
Nearby Share’s “self-sharing” mode will allow you to quickly share files to other devices registered in the same Google account without having to approve the share.
This has not yet been implemented from what I can see, but it is present in the latest version of Google Play Services. pic.twitter.com/wdtxoiE2oz

Nearby sharing allows Android devices and Chromebooks to send files, photos, and videos to other nearby devices. A small drawback, however, is when sending files between your devices. As things stand, you have to accept a confirmation request on the receiving device despite both having the same connected Google account.
The feature is not yet publicly available, but given the timing of its proximity to Google I / O next month, it’s possible the feature may debut around the same time.
