Samsung just managed to release the One UI 6 update in October two days early. Firmware with Android 14 and the October 1 security patch is now being seeded globally on Galaxy S23 Ultra, Galaxy S23, and Galaxy S23+.
The update is approximately 3GB and brings numerous improvements and new features. There’s a new design with a new default font, new icons, simpler icon labels, and a way to make the lock screen clock bigger or reposition it.
The quick panel has a new button layout: Wi-Fi and Bluetooth have their own places at the top, followed by the usual quick toggles, and brightness has been moved to the bottom.

A user interface 6
One UI 6 offers the new Studio video player. You need to open the Gallery app first and enable it from there. It’s a project-based video editor with powerful options but seems limited to FHD for now.
Other new features include the new weather widget, a new look for Samsung Health (arrived for users on Android 13), a smarter airplane mode (will keep Wi-Fi and Bluetooth active), the battery settings menu has been strengthened alongside Display and much more.
Check out your Galaxy S23 phone: Samsung will ramp up its rollout on the S23 family today, followed by a long list of devices in the coming weeks and months.
