The Motorola 2022 camera flagship will be unveiled in China later this month, the phone will use Samsung’s new 200MP ISOCELL HP1 sensor. It initially leaked under its codename, “Frontier,” but now we know the phone will likely be marketed as the Motorola Edge 30 Ultra.
Even leakster Nils Ahrensmeier says he knows how much it will cost: € 900 for a 12/256 GB drive. That’s just € 100 more than an Edge 30 Pro (with the same 12/256 GB memory configuration). Obviously, the Pro has a fairly basic 50MP 1 / 1.55 “main camera, not as good as the HP1, which has a 1 / 1.22” optical format.
Motorola Edge 30 Ultra: the official info so far
The phone will switch to the new Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset and is said to go up to 125W of wired charging (from 68W) for its 4,500mAh battery. The display should be essentially the same, a 6.67-inch OLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate.
Motorola has unveiled the focal lengths of the Edge 30 Ultra’s three cameras: 35, 50, and 85mm. The main camera on most phones is wider than that (around 23mm, let’s say) and they have an even shorter focal length on their ultra wide angle (around 13mm). We will see what it is about soon enough.
Ahrensmeier warns that the prices of the Ultra may vary. He also mentions the Motorola Edge 30 Neo, previously leaked as the Edge 30 Lite. This will go for € 400 or just below the price of the Edge 30.

The Lite / Neo phone is expected to have a 64MP main camera with OIS and an ultra-wide 13MP camera (no other modules on the back). It should be smaller with a 6.28-inch 120Hz FHD + OLED (32MP selfie camera). It should be powered by a Snapdragon 695 with 8/256 GB of memory and a 4,020 mAh battery with 30W fast charging.
Motorola will likely unveil both new additions to the Edge family at the same time this month.
