There are multiple networks of Smart Tag Competiti – which is not exceptional since there is a force in numbers for these networks (the more users there are, the better the monitoring). Google launched its My Network network last year and should be “One True Find My Network for Android”, but it still doesn’t work great. Samsung’s Discovery of SmartThings is pleasant, but is only available for the owners of Galaxy phones.
No longer, the developer Kieron Quinn has created the UTAG (“Universal Tag” app, which allows any Android phone (OS version 11 and more recent) to use Samsung Sagregs. The app also has some features that miss the official Samsung app.

Here is the only difficult part: UTAG will download and install a modified version of the SmartThings app. You have to access that app once again and once again to give access to UTAG to the Samsung bees. The official app refuses to work on non -Samsung devices, the modified version removes this control (and also has a code that speaks with the UTAG app).

And you can contribute to the SmartThings network, so the tags identified by the phone can be monitored by their owners. Apparently, the only thing that does not work is the walking mode for pets.
So there are some features that you will not find in the SmartThings app. Utag can automatically scan unknown tags near you – this to prevent someone from using a tag to follow you. In addition, you can add widgets to your home screen that shows the position of a specific tag or a chronology of the location.
