Today Samsung started rolling out the stable version of One UI 5, starting with the Galaxy S22 series (at least the versions of the phones powered by Exynos). There is also a long list of Galaxy phones that run via the beta program and that bug fixes before they get their own stable version of the new software.
What is One UI 5 all about? The official intro video is a 2-minute overview of what’s new in the latest version of Samsung’s Custom UI.
The company has added a ton of new customization features, both automatic and manual, to give your phone (and watch) the look you want. There are also some practical improvements like stacked widgets to save home screen space.
Also, for devices with larger screens (like, say, a Galaxy Fold) there is a new taskbar. One UI 5 also combines Privacy and Security controls in one screen with automatic alerts if something suspicious is going on.
