Rumors of a more affordable Samsung Galaxy Fold6 have been circulating for a while, and it was expected to launch at July’s Galaxy Unpacked event alongside the Galaxy Z Fold6 Ultra, Z Flip6, and Galaxy Ring. A new report from the South Korean newspaper The Elect suggests that this may not happen this year as Samsung is re-examining its plans to launch the Galaxy Z Fold6 FE.

The report specifies that early production units of the Z Fold6 FE were no thinner than its main Chinese brand competitors, and that the device lacked a stylus digitizer, meaning it didn’t support S Pen input. Samsung believes these factors, combined with market uncertainties, are enough to postpone the launch for the time being. Samsung is expected to continue working to offer more affordable variants of the Z Fold and Z Flip series next year.
