Let’s go back to basics: great battery life, reliable construction, reasonable price: this is the vivo Y31d! Even its name is far from modern trends.
The Y31d launched quietly this week and we’re just in time for the unboxing. The phone comes with a full set of accessories: a case, a 44W charger, and a USB-A to USB-C cable.

Unboxing of the vivo Y31d
You can choose between Glow White and this soft Starlight Grey. The phone has quite reasonable dimensions at 166.6 x 78.4 x 8.39mm and weighs just 219g. However, these dimensions don’t reflect the massive 7,200mAh power pack hidden inside. You wouldn’t guess that there’s full two-day power inside the Y31d.

Handle the phone
The phone is also well protected from the elements, with an IP69+ rating – you don’t have to worry about splashes, rain, submersions up to 1.5 meters and even high-pressure water jets (but why would you?).
Therefore, the build quality and battery life are the highlights of the vivo Y31d. How about performance? This is covered by a Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 2 SoC with 6GB or 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of UFS 2.2 storage. The chipset’s name betrays the 4G-only nature of the phone, but we’d expect people who buy this phone to be fine without 5G.

Up front is a 720p resolution LCD, but it gets quite bright and refreshes quickly at 120Hz. The fingerprint scanner has been relegated to the side frame, but it works well.

Vivo’s Y31d is a no-frills smartphone that will do it all for those on a budget. It will provide great performance with solid battery life and is covered by OriginOS 6 based on vivo’s Android 16. Do you really need anything more for your basic phone needs?
