In November last year a leak spoke of vivo launching the V27 and V27 Pro in India this month. Today the V27 reportedly appeared in Geekbench’s online database, and thus seems to solidify the credibility of that past information, since prototypes are usually tested closer to their official presentations.
The phone that Geekbench ran on has the model number V2246 and, of course, runs Android 13. Perhaps a little more surprising is the fact that it has 12GB of RAM, which isn’t something you often see on a mid -rangers. The chipset is not listed, but due to the Mali-G610MC4 GPU it uses it is most likely a still unknown part from MediaTek. As you can see, the prototype scored a single-core score of 845 and a multi-core score of 2,217.

According to new rumors, the V27 will have a 4G version and a 5G version, while the V27 Pro will only be offered with 5G. The V27e 5G is expected to join all of these at a later date, and the name implies it should be the cheapest 5G-enabled option of the bunch.
The vivo V27 5G may have some similarities to the S16 5G that launched in China in December. While that may turn out to be true, if the V27 5G sports a MediaTek SoC, it can’t just be a rebranding exercise, as the S16 boasts Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 870.
