It’s only been a few months since vivo launched its first foldable smartphone, the X Fold, but the company is already gearing up to release its successor, a slightly updated version rumored to be called the vivo X Fold S.
This was first mentioned in the leakerverse earlier this month and today we get information on what updates to expect over the non-S version which is already on sale. Spoiler alert: none of these will blow your mind.

According to the usual reliable Digital chat stationvivo X Fold S will come with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, a 4,700mAh battery and support for 80W wired charging. These are presumably the only differences to the X Fold, which has the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1, a 4,600mAh battery, and 66W wired charging support. Otherwise, the new phone on the way should be identical to the previous model.
While three spec updates aren’t many, they’re nothing. It remains to be seen how the first users of the X Fold will react to its replacement after only a few months of availability on the market. Apparently the X Fold S will be announced very soon.
