The vivo Y77t was launched today in China and the company has already put the device on sale. It comes with the Dimensity 7020 chipset, a 50MP main camera and a big battery, and if those specs sound familiar, that’s because this is exactly the same device as the vivo Y78 with only one difference: the base storage is 256GB.

The screen of the Y77t is a 6.64-inch LCD with Full HD+ resolution and up to 120Hz refresh rate. There is a punch hole in the center for the 8MP camera, while the dual shooters on the back are 50MP main + 2MP. The battery is 5,000mAh with 44W fast charging.
We’re struggling to understand why vivo launches the same phone twice under two different names on the same market; even the promotional pages are identical. However, the vivo Y77t is listed as cheaper than the vivo Y78, probably as a marketing trick to make people buy the Y77t which looks cheaper, especially when compared to the Y78+.

I live Y77t
The vivo Y77t is available in Phoenix Gold, Black and Jade Green colors with two price points: CNY 1,399 ($190/€175) for the 8/256GB version and CNY 1,599 ($220/€200) for the 12/256GB version. For comparison, the price of the Y78 is 300 CNY ($40) higher, so if you are a fan of this device and want to import it from China yourself, we suggest you choose the Y77t.
