Last week’s survey shows that the Realme GT Neo 3T is not viable at its regular price of € 430 (and the temporary discount of € 30 is not enough). What went wrong?

Well, you can get the same hardware for less money, and you don’t even have to waste much time looking: Realme’s GT Neo2 is pretty much the same phone, aside from charging (65W vs 80W) and camera (the Neo2 actually has a slightly larger sensor). And it can be yours for € 330, € 100 less than the 3T.

The 3T seemed outdated to some commentators. The Snapdragon 870 is a good and efficient chipset, but it is now quite old and doesn’t look good in the € 400 price segment. Even the 64MP 1 / 2.0 ”sensor is hard to impress.

Weekly poll results: Realme GT Neo 3T struggles to attract fans

This result shouldn’t surprise too much, the GT Neo2 itself was viewed with doubts when it launched, but found a fair number of supporters. Releasing nearly the same hardware six months later would never have been a popular move.

Either way, cheaper phones may not be the GT Neo 3T’s biggest concern, instead it has been compared to similarly priced and even more expensive phones and has been found lacking. In fact, more people would rather spend € 600 for a Realme GT Neo 3 (not T) than get a 3T.

Of course, GT Neo2 and GT Neo 3 are just the in-house alternatives – competing companies have many excellent alternatives in this price segment.
