Xiaomi today announced the Xiaomi OLED Vision 55 TV for the Indian market. This is the company’s first OLED TV to be launched in India.
The OLED Vision 55 features a 55-inch, 3840×2160 OLED panel. We weren’t able to get the panel manufacturer info from Xiaomi, but it’s probably the same LG WRGB panel used by most companies. It’s a native 10-bit panel with a fixed 60Hz refresh rate and 98.5% DCI-P3 coverage.

The TV supports Dolby Vision IQ, which automatically adjusts the display brightness based on ambient lighting, along with HDR10 +, HDR10 and HLG. It also has IMAX Enhanced certification, which verifies the consistency of various aspects of audio and video quality with IMAX Enhanced content.
The audio features an 8-driver 30W speaker system with support for Dolby Atmos and DTS X surround sound standards.
For connectivity, there are 3 HDMI 2.1 ports *, one of which supports eARC, 2 USB ports, Ethernet, composite in, optical out and headphone jack. There is also 802.11ac Wi-Fi support and dual-band Bluetooth 5.0.
Xiaomi puts a giant asterisk on the HDMI 2.1 part because these are not HDMI 2.1 ports but rather HDMI 2.0. However, as the HDMI licensing administrator has incredibly permissive and downright foolish requirements for something to consider HDMI 2.1, you can very well add a couple of HDMI 2.1 capabilities to HDMI 2.0 and officially label it as HDMI 2.1.

To this end, the TV supports ALLM or auto low latency mode, which will automatically put the TV into a low latency game mode when it detects a signal from a console. Having this feature alone is often enough to label an HDMI 2.0 device as HDMI 2.1. If you are a gamer, however, you should know that there is no support for variable refresh rates and the panel is only 60Hz.
The TV is powered by a MediaTek 9617 SoC with 4 Cortex-A73 CPU cores and Mali G52 MC1 GPU. It also has 3GB of memory and 32GB of storage.
Finally, the OLED Vision 55 runs on Android TV 11. As usual, Xiaomi has its own optional Patchwall UI, which you can use to access content from over 30 different providers, although you’ll still need to install their apps. The TV also has far-field microphones built in so you can use the Google Assistant or interact with your smart home devices.
Xiaomi OLED Vision 55 is priced at INR 89,999 with a discount of INR 6,000 for HDFC Bank credit card holders. It goes on sale on Thursday, May 19, 2022.
