Continuing the coverage of the new Xiaomi products that were announced today brings us to the Xiaomi Band 8, the Sound Move speaker and the new 86-inch mini-LED smart TV.

The eighth iteration of the Xiaomi Band series carries its predecessor’s 1.62-inch AMOLED pill-shaped screen with a resolution of 490x192px and a refresh rate of 60Hz. Band 8 also offers Always on Display support and a peak brightness of 600 nits compared to Band 7’s 500 nits.

Band 8 comes with plenty of official strap options from Xiaomi, including all kinds of materials like leather, nylon fabric, and metal in various styles. Xiaomi also offers a pendant accessory and a clip that can be attached to shoes for more advanced posture tracking and monitoring.

The wearable is still waterproof up to 5 ATM and weighs 27 grams. The health monitoring sensors remain unchanged with a heart rate monitor, blood oxygen level detector, and sleep and stress tracking.
You get the same basic set of fitness tracking, but with the added benefit of interactive fitness classes that take advantage of the Band 8’s accelerometer to help you track your movement in real time. These courses will be offered on Xiaomi’s Mi Fitness app with walkthroughs displayed on your phone or tablet.

Xiaomi boasts a longer battery life with 16 days of typical use and 6 days with the AOD mode on. The Band 8 also gets a new two-pin charger that promises a full 190mAh battery charge in an hour.

The Xiaomi Band 8 price is set at CNY 249 ($40 converted) and CNY 299 ($43 converted) for the NFC version. International pricing and availability were not detailed.
Xiaomi Sound Move speaker
Xiaomi also unveiled a new smart speaker called Sound Move. It brings an aluminum casing, Bluetooth 5.3 connectivity, LHDC codec support, and is IP66 rated for water and dust. There’s a row of touch-sensitive controls on the side, including a button for calling up a digital assistant.

The device features two 7.5W drivers and two passive radiators tuned by Harman Kardon. Battery life is estimated at 21 hours of playtime on a single charge thanks to a 4,150mAh battery.

Xiaomi 86 inch Smart LED TV
Xiaomi’s new 86-inch mini-LED smart TV features 4K resolution, a 144Hz refresh rate, and up to 2,000 nits of peak brightness. Xiaomi boasts a new in-house developed image quality engine that is supposed to optimize all types of content played on the TV.

The TV comes with a Cortex A73 CPU and Mali-G52 GPU along with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage. You also get a 70W speaker array and 3 HMDI 2.1 ports. The software side is managed by MIUI TV.
The price is set at CNY 14,999 which converts to $2,181 at today’s exchange rate.
