Xiaomi presented a Smart Glasses concept last year, and the prototype is already a reality, less than a year after the announcement.

The Mijia Glasses Camera is now available for pre-order on the company’s internal crowdfunding platform. The introductory price is CNY 2,499 (about $ 370) and customers will receive a 100-gram wearable device equipped with a custom Snapdragon 8-based chipset, as well as a dual-camera setup with 5X optical zoom.

The Snapdragon chip is backed by 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage, and apparently there is an independent ISP. The display is a Sony product and is a silicon-based OLED with a peak brightness of 3000 nits, 1800 nits per eye, 3281 ppi density and TUV certified for blue light levels.

The dual camera has a 50MP primary sensor with Quad Bayer pixel binning, while the secondary is an 8MP 5x telephoto lens with OIS and can record up to 100 minutes of non-stop video.

The battery capacity is 1,020mAh and supports 10W wireless charging. 30 minutes of charging can bring 80% from flat. Other specs and features include live translation on the screen and native support for the Xiaomi XiaoAI AI assistant.

The product follows the classic crowdfunding recipe: collect pre-orders and then with the accumulated money start producing the device. Once the company is ready for simple production, the device is said to cost CNY 2,699 (around $ 400).
